I grew up with Popeye and I thought this movie was a HOOT! I'm not the biggest Robin Williams fan but this roll was made for him. ALL of the acting is right in character with the comics and cartoons. In context; the sets are spectacular. The story line is broad but kept close within the continuity of the story and is easily followed. Admittedly there is inherent "violence" in any Popeye material. BUT IT'S SO SLAP-STICK that you'd have to have one heck of an imagination to take it seriously....BUT IT *IS* SERIOUSLY FUN!
