Guy here.A lot of guys don't wear tall boots because they seem "girly" but they're really just utilitarian pieces of footwear that also do a fine job of looking good. I've seen girls wearing these all the time, and after I got my sneakers wet in the winter too many times I decided it was time to get something practical for the winter. And the spring. And the fall. Although Hunter does make boots for guys, I much prefer the shiny gloss look. So now I own a brand-new, shining pair of these boots. They're fantastic. My feet are just shy of 10 inches (25 cm exactly). Women's US size 9 fits way too perfectly, although there is some wiggle room for my toes. Upon first trying them out, I couldn't get my pants into them. I also bought boot socks, which I didn't even attempt to wear inside the boot on the first day. So I just wore plain regular socks and tucked my pants in as well as I could. My legs were kind of cold walking around, but overall the boots were great at keeping the elements out of socks and preventing my toes from freezing; my feet though were pretty warm, with just plain socks. At the end of the day, they can be easily cleaned with a soaked paper towel. Taking them off required the strength of both arms, though, which is probably the only downside to these boots. Wearing them and walking in them isn't a hassle at all; they're not bulky and the weight is evenly distributed so it doesn't feel like you're dragging your feet, unlike some heavy snow boots or work boots. The "fresh rubber" smell was also pretty striking but it'll probably go away and be replaced with the smell of my own feet after I've worn the boots enough. On the second day I wore them, I think I had "broken in" the boots enough. I was able to tuck my pants into the boot socks, and then tuck that into the boot itself. The fit is really snug; borderline tight for some people. I don't mind, as I prefer a snug fit to keep my pants and feet from getting wet and cold. Of course, taking them off is a hassle, so I really only take them off before I decide to settle for the day; not that it matters, since it just feels great to wear them anyway.Overall, I would highly recommend these for rain and snow. The boot fits true to size, and if you measure your feet you won't go wrong. If you want a tight, snug fit, go for the size you are (half-sizes I would recommend going up); if not go a size up, as it'll also help when you go to take the boots off with that extra wiggle room. I recommend actually measuring your feet and then looking at the size chart so you know about exactly what women's size you are (if you're a guy who's reading this, but girls would probably find this helpful as well), and then ordering the closest size, rounding up. So, if you're a guy who's reading this, don't be afraid to pick up a nice pair of these Hunter boots. It's practical, and perfect for any kind of sub-par weather you happen to find yourself in.TL;DR+Great for any kind of weather+Even better with socks+Sizing is almost to a T (for whole sizes, at least)+Comes in all the guy's colors PLUS more (like blue, since that's a lot of people's favorite colors)+Slip-on, snug fit+No zipper means no chances of leaking-Rubber smell might offend your nose (rub with white vinegar on a towel if you want to get rid of it quick; otherwise, keep in a well-ventilated area to rid the smell)-Hard to take off, since there's no zipper or anythingAbout authenticity: I've read some reviews about fake Hunter boots prior to purchasing them. Here's some advice:1. Only buy if it has Prime shipping. This means that the seller is probably legit, since they're backed by Amazon.2. Check the boots themselves. Real boots should have "Hunter" etched on the metal buckles. Try tracing your fingertipalong the metal if you can't see. There should also be a colored stamp on the heel with a balance. Some of the productpictures are outdated, since earlier models don't have them, but newer ones will have the stamp on the heel (see pictures).Obviously, also check to make sure that the iconic Hunter logo is on the top front of the boot.I hope guys and girls alike will find this helpful.I love the feel and protection of these stylish boots. I have a skinny leg, so they fit a bit loose, but do the job intended. I love them for my farm in Hawaii every day.The boots took weeks to get to the US from England. When they arrived the box was mangled. One boot came out nice and shiny, but not quite patent black which I had ordered. The other boot was much more dull and had no patent “look”. It also seemed used. Rather odd. Made me wonder if the boots were a knockoff. I’m keeping them bc I don’t want to wait any longer. The height of the shaft is awesome as I’m 5’11” and they are super comfortable but bc of the different colors of each boot I can only give it a 3* review.Cute rain boots. They seem to be well made and my feet were warm and dry after wearing them for the day. I had to add some inserts because they were a little roomy inside. I didn't need a smaller size per se, but the space between the sole and the top of the foot was a little spacious for my foot. Hoping these last a long time.the box came ripped, but the boots are ok. I liked the boots, but because of the price I'm not sure if they are original. They were made in China, is this ok for that brand? Purchased these after my Jules boots both developed cracks across the top of ankle area after only about 12 wears and, regular cleaning with Jules cleaner. These hunter Boots arrived in perfect condition. Hoping the glossy finish will be easier to care for. I read the reviews and was torn between what size to order. I am a standard 7 1/2. My Jules were a size 7 and with an insole and socks fit well but ,once I put in boot liners felt too snug. With these Hunter boots decided on the 8 and am glad I did. I placed in a lambswool insole for warmth and support and typically wear with thick socks. I can also wear my boot liners with room to wiggle my toes. When it is snowing or really cold I need the liners and with tight boots your toes get cold. I am able to wear my jeans and have no problems tucking them in. My calfs measure 14" and am able to get boots on and off with no problem. If your calfs are over 14 1/2" I think they may be too tight and rubber does not stretch. If you plan on putting in a liner wearing socks and a boot liner I recommend if you are a 1/2 size go up to the next full size. I ordered the dark olive and love the color. Hope these last longer than my Jules . I took off 1 star for lack of arch support.Don't know if they would have lasted or not as they have only been tried on at home and found them very uncomfortable and difficult to get on and a nightmare to get off.I don't think I have particularly wide calves (15" on the widest part) and these boots are very tight around the ankle and the top part. The rest was fine. Hunter size 6 fitted my Clarks size 6 well with few room on the front and heel areas but my little toe would have got rubbed.I tried them with different trousers' thickness and also with thin and thick socks. With Hunter socks and skinny jeans I barely could get my foot on and the boot got creased.Another thing I noticed is that they are very cold so not suitable for icy feet like mine without, maybe, fleece socks. They are made in China so this could be the reason of this weird fitting. I have read some reviews that the ones made in Scotland are much better in all aspects. I will try to find them then!I waited a while to get me some of these boots and finally the price was reasonable enough to purchase them. Much has been written about Hunter wellies and them not standing the test of time but after wearing them since October 2012 I can say that they look as good as new. Ok, I'm not using them to go quad biking or wading through farmland on a daily basis but as a city girl who uses them on rainy days they have been great - no wet socks yet and they haven't worn down at all. I bought some welly socks (not Hunter ones - too expensive for socks) to go with them which makes for a more comfortable fit.I like that they are tall, unlike many other wellies, so they look nicer and obviously protect more of my jeans/trousers from the rain. I have found a product that's safe enough to use as a "re-glosser" too, when the time comes, but at the moment they are still glossy.A very happy purchase and I would buy a pair again in the future.I have always bought Hunters Wellies for many years. I ordered a pair of these Hunters Wellies two years ago for walking my dog, but they have split around the ankle. I ordered size four and they were very comfy. So I ordered another pair size four, but first time of wearing them they hurt me, really tight and rubbing. So as I had worn them I couldn't return them. Luckily my sister wanted a pair so is buying them off me. She is a size 3 but they fit her perfectly.Always wanted a pair of the infamous Hunter wellies! Look great and fast delivery but have had wellies that are tighter around my calf, which I prefer. These are quite wide. Also ordered a size 7,my usual size, and they are very roomy. Wore 2 pairs of socks! You're definitely paying for a 'label as you can get better for much less money. Not the best. Lasted 8 months. My £10 Tesco wellies lasted for 2 years. Madness.
