They don’t dig in anywhere, big and heavy, but comfy.Love the style and the comfort of these boots but after a few months wearing them the stitches got loose on one boot. Keen boots should be stronger than that. Too bad. These are great for Wisconsin winters. Easy to get on and off with the zipper, comfortable, I bought a half size up so I can wear thicker socks and it worked great.I'd have to say, these boots, when I pulled them out of the box and tried to stretch them a bit I wasn't expecting my foot to fit AT ALL! I am surprised that I was able to wiggle my foot into them and walk around. Definitely won't be needing another layer of socks, just hope they are waterproof enough when it does snow for us....if it does anyways. I got them for that reason afterall, however, I really enjoy them and walking around is no issue. These fit the same as all my other chunky Keen boots! I love how wide these are at the toe, barely crowds my wide foot. The tops are a little scratchy, so if you’re sensitive to that kind of thing expect to wear tall socks or pass these by. I’m glad I kept both pairs of Keens I tried, they will hopefully last another 10 years like my last pair.I’m extremely happy with these boots! I live in Alaska and needed a good hiking boot for winter. Right out of the box, I went on a ten mile snowy semi packed trail hike in 10* temperatures. My feet stayed warm and dry the entire time and were comfortable. I did have snow cleats on, but probably would have been fine without them. They were stiff at first, but loosened up quickly. My feet did get a tiny bit chilly when we stopped for a bit to enjoy our peak destination views, but far from miserable cold. They quickly warmed back up once we started moving again.I really didn't like the zipper as I thought it made it harder to put the boot on rather than easier. Plus, I would have preferred hooks rather than holes to secure the laces. I thought maybe I was to just leave the laces tightened and use the zipper to put on/take off the boot, but that was an issue for me as well. I thought I would give them a try as I've had Keen's before and I liked the quality, but I really wanted to try them because of the height. These boots are great. They fit perfect and are warm for the very cold northern Michigan winters. I could wear them year around, they are so comfortable.I love these boots so much that I have bought a second pair, because I never want to wear any other shoes! They were a little stiff at first, but they soon softened up. I didn't notice how much they'd softened until the second pair arrived! They were incredibly comfortable from the moment I put them on, and they keep my feet dry and wonderfully warm. I walk an average of 10km a day, and I've worn these boots for every walk this year. I will be sad when the weather warms up and it is too hot to wear them! I am a UK size 5.5. I ordered a size 6 and I have room for sheepskin insoles in them, which makes them even toastier. I put different coloured laces in each pair, so that they go with all my clothes. I hope they last forever and ever!I am delighted with these boots! So far they have lived up to all the hype. I read so many positive reviews, and I can confirm that so far, they are all true. I read a good few comments that recommended going up a size, but the overall opinion was that they are true to size. So i didn't take this advice and brought my actual size. Big mistake as they were extremely tight! So i sent them back and exchanged them for a half size bigger and they fit perfectly. Exchanging them was simple and hassle free. I work outdoors and walk 5-10 miles a day with my two dogs. I don't have a single complaint about these boots They are hands down the best boots I have owned!!I’m super fussy/particular about my winter boots, as I need something that looks good, is comfortable, waterproof, grippy even in the wet and preferably thin soled so I can feel more of the terrain like a trail running shoe…. This definitely isn’t a thin soled boot, I guessed that from images, can’t have it all i know. But these boots tick everything else. I’ve used them on wet rocks, dry rocks, mud, sand, woodland tracks, cliff paths, wet muddy fields, to the park, to the shop and to town. They grip, they look great and keep my feet dry. I’d say best to go up a size, but there is a bit of heel slip, which can be a tad annoying if I think about it, but I needed half a size up for toe box area. Actually really happy I bought theseThese boots are very comfy. You do need to undo the laces and zip but I’m fine with that. It’s no more effort. They started off as a bit tight over the shin but I just open the zip a little bit. After a couple of outings they are now fine. I would not recommend very thick socks as not necessary . My only issue is that the area above the foot is partly fabric which means you could not use them like a welly to Wade through water.I bought these to walk my dogs in muddy areas as well as to keep my feet warm and to double up as snow boots. I have not yet tried them in snow. I am normally a size 6-7 depending upon styles. I bought a 6.5 and don't wear socks with them. If I want to wear socks I would have needed a 7 as they are a snug fit. The zip is a bonus as saves you doing lots of laces.
